Sir Terence Conrans 80th birthday is celebrated this year with a major exhibition called The way we live now at the Design Museum London, exploring the impact and legacy of the eighty-year-old designer. Pizzeria Libretto opens a new location in Toronto this month. Interior design by Andre Kikoski Architects , who recently worked on The Wright restaurant at Guggenheim. At Libretto, they have created a simple, honest and natural look using reclaimed fire extinguishers as lamps, made by Castor design, natural oak tables and the Emeco 111 Navy chairs made from 111 recycled plastic Coca-Cola bottles. Emeco is happy to announce the opening of the MUSE School in California this month! The “local, global and green” school was selected for the donation of this years Emeco 2111 Prize. The 2111 No Waste Prize is an annual award given to the project taking the highest amount of waste out of the landfill, encouraging projects with an educational commitment to a sustainable world. The 111 Navy Chairs at UIA2011 World Congress of Architecture in Japan displayed at the Tokyo Chair City Exhibition opening on Sept. 23rd in the Marunouchi business district of Tokyo.
